ALTERNATE BAND OF THE MONTH: THREE DAYS GRACE

Three Days Grace

Alternative Metal

Three Days Grace formed in 1997, originally as Groundswell members were Adam Gontier in vocals and guitar, Brad Walst in the bass and Neil Sanderson in drums.

As Groundswell they released one album known as ‘Wave of Popular Feeling’ but the album didn’t sell much. It was bad anyway.

The band separated but reunited on 2000 and recalled Three Days Grace they released four albums, first one was ‘Three Days Grace’ good songs on this album were ’ I Hate everything about you’ and ’Let you Down’. Second album was called ‘One-X’ and good song in this album were ’Riot’ and ‘Never Too Late’. After that ‘Life Starts Now’ came out good songs were ‘Break’ and ‘Lost in You’. ‘Transit of Venus’ came after that, good song were ‘Expectations’ and ‘Time that Remains’. After that in 2013 Adam Gontier left the band, and was replaced by Matt Walst, vocalist of My Darkest Days and brother of Brad. In 2015 ‘Human’ came out and the best song were ‘Painkiller’ and ‘Human Race’.

I think this band has got many fans around the world but, they do not much tours out of the US and Europe.

The style of the band has always been the same, but is good anyway. Even tough they changed their vocalist in 2013 the style remained the same. It’s a strong sound but relaxing at the same time, focused on the bass and drums, and sometimes just the guitar.

Talking about live shows, unfortunately I live in the worst country ever so I haven’t see them live but I saw them in YouTube and the shows are amazing, Adam used to sing very loud but he didn’t move much around the stage, Matt instead moves a lot and sing loud. In every live show I’ve seen Neil does a drum solo that’s amazing. Acoustic shows of this band are great, just voice, guitar and percussion.

Now I’ll let you with some of the songs I like the most of this band.

Here are some photos about the band.
