ALTERNATIVE BAND OF THE MONTH
SHINEDOWN
The band was formed in 2001 by singer Brenth Smith, Brad Stewart in bass, Jasin Todd in guitar and Barry Kerch in drums. Zach Myers joined the band in 2009 and assumed as the main guitarist after Nick Perri exit.
In 2001 they released Leave a Whisper it had songs like ‘45’ and ‘Fly from the Inside’. Then they took out Us and Them in 2005, good songs were ‘Save Me’ and ‘Shed some Light’.
The Sound of Madness was released in 2009, in this album Zach Myers played the main guitar, I have really much to say about this album, first it was really amazing, it had slow songs like ‘If you Only knew’, ‘What a Shame’ and ‘Second Chance’. Fast songs on this album were the really best Shinedown songs, like ‘Sound of Madness’ and ‘Diamond Eyes’ without forgetting the amazing collaborated version with Lzzy Hale (lead of Halestorm) of ‘Breaking Inside’. Then Amaryllis came in, I’ve got to say that in this album all songs were good, songs like ‘Adrenaline’ and ‘I’m Alive’ have got really strong choruses. ‘My Name’ and ‘Enemies’ were absolutely the best. In 2015 Threat to Survival came with a very different style that the older albums had. ‘Cut the Cord’ was good, while ‘Black Cadillac’ got an R&B style.
The style of Shinedown was the same until Threat to Survival, the songs on the first four was good, strong choruses and really good bridges. The style of Threat to Survival was closer to R&B and Pop Rock.
Live concerts are also really good if you want to see one of them I recommend you the one in Washington in 2009 I think, and the acoustic on Kansas.
I’ll let you with the three songs I like the most of Shinedown:
This is the actual band. Next month I’ll be talking about Halestorm hope you like this article.
